Task Force For International Cooperation On Holocaust Education, Remembrance and Research

Commemorated on the day corresponding to 27 Nissan in the Hebrew calendar, "Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day," known as Yom HaShoah, is the day the Jewish Community remembers those who were murdered as a result of actions taken by Nazi Germany and its collaborators. The day also acknowledges the active Jewish Resistance during that period, such as the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. In 2011 Yom HaShoah will be marked on 1 May.
