FRA Launches Online Survey on Antisemitism
The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) has launched an online survey on Jewish people’s perceptions and experiences of antisemitism. The survey will be open until 30 September 2012.
All persons who consider themselves as Jewish, are 16 years of age or older, and resident in one of the nine survey countries are eligible to take part in the survey. The nine survey countries are: Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Romania, Sweden and the United Kingdom. More information on the survey is available here.
The online survey investigates examples of antisemitic harassment and violence, as well as the extent to which Jewish people feel safe and secure in Europe today, how they characterize antisemitism, and whether or not they perceive it to be a growing threat. The survey further explores how and whether incidents are being reported, and levels of awareness among European Jews about their legal rights.
The results of the survey shall inform the European Institutions and the Member States when formulating policies and legal responses to combat antisemitism. Equally, the results will be made available to all interested organisations and individuals through the FRA Website.
